What Is an SRES® Designation, and Who Is It For?

The Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®) designation is for REALTORS® who want to be able to meet the special needs of maturing Americans when selling, buying, relocating, or refinancing residential or investment properties. By earning the SRES® designation, REALTORS® are prepared to approach mature clients with the best options and information for them to make life-changing decisions.

With over 20 years of experience in the medical field serving seniors, I bring a unique understanding of the challenges older adults face when moving. As a Seniors' Move and Transition Specialist, I provide expert guidance to seniors and their families, ensuring a stress-free transition into new living arrangements. I am supported by a resource team that includes an estate planning attorney, financial advisor, move managers, and bridge loan lenders, offering a holistic approach to senior transitions.

For first-time home buyers, I understand that buying a home can feel overwhelming. My mission is to "Meet People Where They Are and Help Them Along Their Journey." I take the time to listen to your needs, preferences, and budget, helping you navigate everything from finding the perfect home to understanding financing and closing. As a senior-focused real estate agent,

I’ve pursued specialized training to better serve both older adults navigating life transitions and buyers entering the housing market.

I am a Certified Senior Housing Professional (CSHP) through the Senior Real Estate Institute, which allows me to serve as a Senior Move & Transition Specialist—guiding seniors and their families through downsizing, selling their home, and transitioning into the next stage of life with clarity and support.

I also hold the Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®) designation from the National Association of REALTORS®, which provides advanced training in working with clients age 50+, including the financial, emotional, and lifestyle considerations involved in later-in-life real estate decisions.

In addition, I am an Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) through the National Association of REALTORS®. This training equips me to represent and advocate for homebuyers—especially first-time buyers—by providing education, resources, and guidance throughout the homebuying process.

As a licensed real estate professional, my goal is to educate, equip, and empower my clients to make confident decisions—whether they are downsizing, transitioning, or purchasing a home for the first time.

Paula Amaker is married to a wonderful and talented musician

husband for more than two decades, they have a blended family of 6 girls and 4 grandchildren. Paula spends her free time spoiling her fur baby Karabell, gardening, traveling and attending musical performances with her hubby. Paula is also an active member of her community and church.
